Join Phedippidations in April for the 112th running of the Boston Marathon

On Monday, April 21st starting at 2:30 PM Greenwich Mean Time, that’s 10:30 AM Eastern Time, 7:30 AM Pacific and 2:30 AM in Auckland New Zealand…you will be able to follow, in real time, a middle aged, middle of the pack slightly asthmatic goofy little Podcaster named Steve (that’s me) as I run the 112th Boston Marathon.

I'll present four special episodes of "Phedippidations" in April, dedicated to the Boston Marathon:

4/6  Fdip136: Running Legend Katherine Switzer

The story about the woman who challenged the all-male tradition of the Boston Marathon and became the first woman to officially enter and run the event.

4/13 Fdip137: The 2008 State of the Course

Join me as I run my last "long run" before the race, along the course starting in Hopkinton.  I'll describe the current state of course (road conditions, construction work, and things to watch for on race day), and give you some of the history of "mile by mile" history of this greatest of all races.

4/20 Fdip138: The Great Race of 1983

One of the most exciting Boston Marathons featured exceptional performances by Greg Meyer, Joan Benoit and Jim Knaub.  In this episode, I'll tell you about an event that will go down in history as one of the greatest races of all time.  In learning about the 1983 Boston Marathon you will come to understand why it is the greatest running event in the history of our sport.

4/27 Fdip139: The 112th Boston Marathon

This will be my 7th consecutive Boston Marathon, and my 18th marathon road race overall.  My goal will be to break my course PR of 4:29:10 which I set back in 2002.  I was forced to cut back on my training, in February, due to injury and my middle-of-the-pack efforts on Patriots Day will give you a sense of how it feels (and sounds) to run Boston.

It’s the 112th Boston Marathon on Phedippidations, the podcast for Runners at SteveRunner.com
